Meet the Team

Whether you’re worried about keeping up as a beginner or need technical coaching to win at competition, our coaches have seen it before. Your training experience is their number one priority.

Benjamin

Co-Founder / Coach

Ben initially began training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2017 for self-defence reasons but fell in love with the art of grappling. He’s passionate about using the most effective coaching methods for developing grappling skills and facilitating an enjoyable environment.

He loves experimenting with new methods, such as the Ecological Dynamics or Constraints Led Approach (CLA) to learning. Currently a BJJ purple belt, he loves introducing BJJ to beginners and witnessing their lives transform as they become stronger, healthier and more confident versions of themselves while joining a fantastic community.

Lachlan

Co-Founder / Coach

Lachlan began training Mixed Martial Arts in 2009 on the Gold Coast before transitioning permanently to Jiu Jitsu in 2014. He moved to Europe in 2015 and continued training under Guillaume Huni in Belgrade, Serbia under whom he received his black belt and maintains close ties. He trained and competed all over the world before landing in Sydney where he continues to be mentored by Keller Locke-Sodhi at Grappling Education.

Lachlan loves training with competitors in a mutual learning environment and is continuously working to improve the quality of his instruction and to explore the most effective teaching methodologies for jiu-jitsu.

George

Coach

George embarked on his grappling journey in 2016 with an initial interest in transitioning to mixed martial arts but quickly found a deep passion for jiu-jitsu that overshadowed his MMA ambitions. Transitioning from a background in basketball, he was drawn to the UFC and the practical self-defence combat sports offered. George’s fascination with grappling grew from self-defence to an appreciation for the technical and scientific aspects of skill acquisition.

Earning his purple belt under ADCC trials champion Keller Loche-Sodhi in 2022, George is dedicated to improving his skills through consistent training, studying high-level matches, and engaging with instructional materials. He values the grappling community for its diverse perspectives and enjoys learning about the unique expertise of others, enhancing both his personal and coaching endeavours.

Harrison Baker

Coach

Harrison embarked on his martial arts journey at the tender age of 4 and ventured into jiu-jitsu at 14, adopting it more seriously at 15 when he began competing in gi tournaments. The move to a jiu-jitsu-focused gym was motivated by the realization of a gap in knowledge, particularly in executing berimbolos, within his initial training environment. After a brief hiatus, he resumed training at Grappling Education with Keller Locke-Sodhi, dedicating himself to a more rigorous regimen. His competitive endeavours expanded to include local tournaments, superfights, and ADCC trials, with the ultimate goal of winning ADCC trials and making a mark on the international professional scene.
